Principles of Professional Ethics for Editors and Publishers

The editors should assist authors in improving the manuscripts submitted to the editors through scientific reviewing and literary editing of articles, as well as, if necessary, assist in establishing contacts with other journals and publishing houses.

The editorial staff are obliged to treat the authors with respect, to conduct a conversation with them exclusively in a benevolent tone, to use correct phrases in correspondence.

Editorial staff should not disclose information about the submitted manuscript to anyone else, except for the author, reviewers and members of the editorial board.

Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used for personal purposes or transferred to third parties. Information or ideas obtained during editing and associated with possible benefits should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.

An editor should not allow information to be published if there are sufficient grounds to believe that it is plagiarism.

It is not allowed to tell anyone, other than the author himself and the editorial board, the content of a negative review of an author’s work.

Confidential information obtained in the course of correspondence with the author and / or reviewers is not subject to disclosure.

When submitting an ethical complaint or when a conflict situation is revealed regarding a submitted manuscript or published article, the editorial staff makes every effort to resolve the disputed issue in the manner prescribed by law.

If material containing significant inaccuracies has been published, it must be immediately corrected in a form accessible to readers and indexing systems with the publication of an editorial message on the introduction of changes or revocation of the article.

Principles to be followed by the author of scientific publications

The authors (or a group of authors), when submitting materials to the scientific journal “Izvestia of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences”, realizes that they are initially responsible for the novelty and reliability of the results of scientific research.

Manuscripts are accepted for consideration if the article has not been sent to other publications for publication, has not been previously published in print or on the Internet.

Borrowed fragments or statements must be made with the obligatory indication of the author and the original source. Excessive borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, including unofficial quotations, paraphrasing or appropriation of rights to the results of other people’s research, is unethical and unacceptable.

All persons who have made a significant contribution to the research should be indicated as co-authors of the article. Among the co-authors it is inadmissible to indicate persons who did not participate in the study.

If the author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in the article at the stage of its consideration or after its publication, he must notify the editorial board of the journal as soon as possible.
